Captain Zadok Radker, Director of the Israel Shipping and Ports Authority (ISPA), issued an official letter to the international shipping community on Saturday night, aiming to dispel rumors of disruptions at Israeli ports following "Operation Lion's Roar."
In the official document, Radker clarifies that all Israeli ports—Eilat, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Hadera, and Haifa—are completely open for business and functioning at full capacity.
Maximum Security and Active Defense
ISPA emphasizes that Israeli ports are considered strategic facilities protected at the highest global standards, exceeding the requirements of the international ISPS Code.
According to the authority's statement, the state invests immense efforts in multi-layered security, including advanced cyber defense and active protection systems such as "Iron Dome" and additional systems deployed at sea and on land, specifically allocated to protect maritime trade.
Radker notes as a fact that in all previous rounds of conflict, no damage was caused to any ship docked in Israeli ports.
Government Insurance and Readiness Level
In a move designed to remove economic barriers for foreign shipping companies, the authority reminds that the Israeli government has activated, through the Property Tax Fund, a dedicated insurance mechanism for all ships en route to Israel or docked in its waters.
As of this moment, the security level at the ports is defined as Level 1 (Security Level 1), and there are no civilian restrictions or special instructions affecting routine operations.
"The safety and security of the shipping community are our top priority," Radker concluded. ISPA emphasizes that the security situation assessment is conducted continuously, and any change will be immediately reported to shipping companies and ship agents.
