Portuguese Ambassador Visited Ashdod Port to Promote Innovation and Cyber

Ashdod Port continues to expand its international network. The Portuguese Ambassador to Israel, Helena Paiva, visited the port this week to strengthen cooperation and knowledge sharing between the ports of the two countries.

 

The Ambassador was accompanied by Economic Attaché Irit Gabriela Freudenheim Levy, Honorary Consul Yoni Isakov, and other dignitaries.

 

During the visit, hosted by Ashdod Port Board Chairman Shaul Schneider, the guests received a comprehensive overview of the port's technological HUB. The Ambassador was impressed by the unique model developed by the port, where it accompanies Israeli startups from the initial development stage, through proof of concept (POC), to full implementation in the port's operational systems.

 

During the meeting, possibilities for strategic cooperation in the fields of innovation, port cyber defense, and joint investments in maritime technologies were examined.

 

Shaul Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ashdod Port, noted: "We thank the Ambassador for the expression of confidence. The visit reflects our commitment to developing international collaborations based on advanced technology."

 

Port CEO Nissan Levy added that the visit is a significant step in deepening ties between the countries: "This is a move that will contribute to streamlining the global supply chain and promoting Israeli innovation in the international arena, for the benefit of the entire economy."
