The Israel Ports Company (IPC) has announced a new public tender for the use of plots 45 and 46 at the Israel Ports Park, located at the northern edge of Ashdod Port. The total area of approximately 23.7 dunams is intended for the development, construction, and operation of buildings and facilities for port logistics activities. According to the tender conditions, the winner will be required to develop the area and construct the infrastructure according to predefined schedules and scopes. The authorization period is long-term, aiming to provide planning certainty to encourage long-term investments by entrepreneurs.
The Israel Ports Park, which spans approximately 1,000 dunams, is a critical hub in the operational envelope of Ashdod Port. Currently, about 780 dunams in 40 active plots are occupied in the park, and its current expansion is intended to support the functional continuity of the maritime gateway.
Chairman of the Israel Ports Company, Hazi Haluviya, stated: "The development of the port hinterland is a central and important hub in strengthening the function and activity of Israel's seaports. The published tender is part of a broader perception aimed at creating an advanced, flexible, and efficient operational envelope that supports port activity and strengthens the supply chains of the Israeli economy over time."
CEO of the Israel Ports Company, Pinchas Tsruya, said: "The tender reflects the commitment of the Israel Ports Company to create conditions that will enable long-term investment and quality development of port-supporting logistics infrastructures. We continue to strengthen the logistics hinterland of Ashdod Port and the seaports in general, and to prepare in advance for the expected growth in maritime trade volumes in the coming years."
Operationally, the development of additional plots in the port hinterland is expected to improve the efficiency of the supply chain by bringing storage and distribution areas closer to the quays. This move is particularly relevant for importers, exporters, and logistics companies looking for areas for value-added activity near the port, which may reduce transportation costs and streamline inventory management in the port hinterland.
