Ashdod Port Company has signed a comprehensive equipment contract with GENMA worth approximately 220 million shekels, as part of a strategic plan to develop and streamline the port's infrastructure. The first phase of the deal involves the purchase of 12 ERTG electric cranes. The port's full equipment plan includes the purchase of up to 38 cranes of this type, estimated to cost around 700 million shekels, during an unprecedented operational efficiency phase with compliance with international environmental standards.

The new ERTG cranes bring significant operational news and are intended for unloading and loading at the port's back, equipped with control and automation systems from Siemens, Germany. The cranes include remote operation and automation capabilities that improve safety and accuracy at work, have storage capacity for up to 5 containers, which will significantly increase the container storage capacity at the back of the port and allow more efficient land use. In addition, they have quiet, clean, and powerful technology and are adapted to the stringent requirements of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and will replace the old diesel cranes.

Extensive infrastructure works are currently being carried out at the port to establish advanced electrical supply systems, which will prepare the ground for the reception of the cranes and turn Ashdod Port into one of the most advanced and green ports in the Mediterranean Sea. The 12 new cranes are expected to start operating in September 2027.

Shaul Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ashdod Port: "We continue to make strategic investments with the purchase of electric cranes, with advanced technology at a global level, which will boost the unloading and storage capabilities of Ashdod Port, for the benefit of the economy and the economy in Israel. We will continue to lead the port field in Israel and the world."

Nissan Levy, CEO of Ashdod Port, said: "We are proud to continue and streamline for the benefit of the port and for the benefit of the entire Israeli economy. This is a significant addition to the operational capacity of Ashdod Port and will allow a dramatic improvement in the field of container movement and storage at the port. I thank the port employees who are leading the project, without affecting the functional continuity."
