Emission Reduction Plan and Shore Power Connection

Among the key achievements and moves led by the port this year is the formulation of a strategic plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2030.

The plan's steps include:

Electrification of operational equipment - transitioning to electric gantry cranes at the quays.

Shore power for ships - connecting docked vessels to shore-side electrical infrastructure to reduce engine emissions while berthed at the port.

Energy efficiency - transitioning to economical lighting systems in operational and storage areas.

These moves express the port's commitment to reducing environmental impacts and its carbon footprint as part of a broad concept of sustainable development.
