ZIM Integrated Shipping Services is joining the national effort during "Operation Lion's Roar." Under the direction of President and CEO Eli Glickman, and in close coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Transport and the Shipping and Ports Authority (RSPA), the company has begun diverting container ships from their routes to serve as "shuttle ships" for transporting essential personnel and medical equipment to Israel.

The first operation is already underway, with the vessel "ZIM Australia" currently en route from the Port of Limassol in Cyprus to the Port of Haifa. Onboard are senior medical teams from Sheba (Tel Hashomer), Rambam, and the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, who were abroad and are required to report immediately to their hospitals due to the state of emergency.

ZIM President and CEO Eli Glickman noted that the transport of passengers and essential goods will continue as long as the state requires and instructs: "Our primary concerns at times like these are the State of Israel and its emergency needs. As in every time of trial, ZIM places the country's interests above all else and contributes its part to the national effort."

The move was executed in direct coordination with the Director of RSPA, Captain Zadok Radker, and Minister of Transport Miri Regev, aiming to ensure functional continuity and supply chain resilience within the Israeli healthcare system, even as the national airspace experiences disruptions.
