An applied framework for Artificial Intelligence. The Israeli National AI Directorate at the Prime Minister's Office, in collaboration with the Accountant General's Department at the Ministry of Finance, has launched the first series of national projects as part of the implementation of the government's flagship program (Decision 4255).
Within this framework, the special tenders committee approved the publication of tenders and Requests for Information (RFI), aimed at ensuring technological sovereignty, growth engines, and Israel's global leadership in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and advanced computing.
The implementation phase includes three key moves: Under "Project Nexus," a tender was published for the establishment of a national "Blue and White" quantum computing platform to establish Israel's position at the global forefront.
Simultaneously, a preliminary Request for Information (RFI) was published for the establishment of a national test field for Physical AI. This facility will serve as a real-world simulation center for edge-case scenarios across infrastructures such as roads, medical complexes, manufacturing environments, and agriculture, promoting breakthroughs in robotics, sensors, and edge computing.
Additionally, another RFI was published to characterize national action plans in the field of Base Models, against the backdrop of their transformation into critical strategic infrastructure and to examine ways to leverage the local market's relative advantages.
The Head of the National AI Directorate, Brig. Gen. (Res.) Erez Eshel, noted that this move marks a rapid transition from strategy definition to practical implementation on the ground to ensure the state's sovereign infrastructures.
Senior Deputy to the Accountant General and Chairman of the Tenders Committee, Evyatar Peretz, added that the synergy between the Ministry of Finance and the National Directorate allows for the translation of the government decision into practical tender mechanisms that will remove barriers for industry and the economy, ensuring global technological leadership.
