Operation "Lion's Roar" records peak activity: Within just 24 hours, two cargo ships and several transport aircraft arrived in Israel, carrying thousands of air and ground munitions and extensive military equipment. This logistics operation, involving offloading at the ports of Ashdod and Haifa and Ben Gurion Airport, is designed to ensure supply continuity and the IDF's operational superiority across all combat theaters.
The global logistics operation is managed in close coordination by the Israeli Ministry of Defense's procurement mission in the US, the International Defense Transportation unit within the Procurement Directorate (MANHAR), and the IDF Planning Directorate. As part of this effort, two cargo ships docked at Ashdod and Haifa ports loaded with thousands of munitions, military trucks, Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), and other equipment. Simultaneously, the airlift continued with the landing of additional transport planes at Ben Gurion Airport.
Upon offloading the equipment at Israel's gateways, the cargo was simultaneously loaded onto hundreds of trucks from the Transport and Conveyance Division of the 'Amon' Department and the IDF's Technology and Logistics Directorate, and immediately evacuated to military bases across the country.
The Director General of the Ministry of Defense, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, personally supervised the logistics operation at Ashdod Port, which represents a central effort by the Ministry to improve readiness.
According to Ministry of Defense data, since the start of Operation "Lion's Roar," over 115,600 tons of military equipment have arrived in Israel via 403 flights and 10 sea shipments.
Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized the importance of the operation: "The State of Israel is prepared at any moment to act against its enemies—in any arena and wherever required. The expanding air and sea bridge now strengthens the IDF's fitness and operational superiority. Our role is to ensure that the IDF receives all necessary means so it can continue to operate with full force."
Ministry of Defense Director General, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, added: "At any given moment, cargo planes and ships are making their way to Israel with thousands of tons of munitions and military equipment. This is part of the Ministry of Defense's strategy to support all IDF needs, both through massive procurement in the immediate term and by improving readiness for an intensive defense decade. The impressive procurement and transport operation we have completed will continue and intensify in the coming weeks."
