Israeli Ports in July 2026: Stability in Cargo and Container Expansion

During July 2026, total cargo movement across all Israeli ports amounted to 4.817 million tons (including marine terminals)—a slight decrease compared to 5.138 million tons in the preceding month of June.

 

Most of the cargo (approximately 3.418 million tons) was designated for discharge, while approximately 1.398 million tons were for loading.

 

Container traffic maintained high volumes, totaling 311,022 TEU (approximately 182,000 physical units), with about 159,000 TEU for discharge and 152,000 TEU for loading.

 

Simultaneously, 24,750 vehicles were discharged at the ports, and bulk grain imports stood at 382,220 tons.

 

 

Ashdod Port Company: Leader in Containers and Bulk Cargo

 

Ashdod Port Company recorded the highest total cargo volume in the country—1.673 million tons. The port maintained its national leadership in container handling with 111,592 TEU (approximately 35.9% of the national market share), alongside prominent leadership in the bulk cargo sector with 286,450 tons (approximately 67.5% of the market).

 

Additionally, the company discharged 121,820 tons of grain (second in Israel), 92,670 tons of metals, 32,100 tons of general cargo, and 6,460 vehicles (26.1% of the market).

 

 

Hadarom Port (HCT): The Leading Container Terminal in the North and South

 

The private Hadarom Port (HCT) in Ashdod presented a total cargo volume of 712,400 tons. The terminal solidified its position as the second-largest container terminal in Israel with 83,067 TEU (approximately 26.7% market share).

 

Furthermore, the port handled 5,288 TEU in the transshipment sector, 41,660 tons of general cargo, and 40,620 tons of metals.

 

 

Haifa Port Company: Leader in Vehicle Discharge and Grain Silos

 

Haifa Port Company handled a total of approximately 798,200 tons of cargo (including Dagon silos, cement, and automated facilities). The port led the national market in vehicle discharge with 9,480 units (approximately 38.3% of all imports).

 

Additionally, the port led national grain discharge via the Dagon silos, through which 144,510 tons passed (37.8% of the market), alongside 69,150 tons of grain discharged at the port's piers. Container traffic at the port stood at 57,849 TEU (18.6% market share), along with 91,250 tons of bulk cargo and 73,340 tons of general cargo.

 

 

Bay Port (SIPG): Leader in Transshipment and General Cargo in the Bay

 

The private Bay Port (SIPG) in Haifa handled approximately 581,300 tons of total cargo. The port led the transshipment container category in July, with 6,028 TEU (approximately 48.1% of all transshipment containers in Israel).

 

General container traffic at the port stood at 58,514 TEU (approximately 18.8% market share). The port also stood out in the general cargo sector with 92,670 tons (second in the country) and discharged 4,411 vehicles.

 

 

Israel Shipyards Port: Leader in General Cargo and Metals

 

Israel Shipyards Port handled approximately 72,140 tons of cargo, demonstrating clear national leadership in the general cargo and metals sectors. The company handled 202,100 tons of general cargo (approximately 45.3% of the total national market) and 169,810 tons of metals (first place in Israel).

 

Additionally, the port discharged 46,740 tons of bulk grain and 46,510 tons of bulk cargo.

 

 

Eilat Port: Limited Activity in Bulk and Fuels

 

Eilat Port recorded cargo handling of approximately 62,010 tons (mainly bulk and fuels) and 4,410 tons of general cargo. The port recorded no container traffic or vehicle discharge during the month, due to the ongoing combat threats and maritime blockade in the Red Sea.
