Mr. Shuki Sagis, director general of the port of Ashdod informed Israeli shippers last week that in line with the port willingness to improve services, the port management had decided to grant extra two days free storage for cargo arriving to the port during the period - 25.10.05- 4.10.05.
The additional two days of free storage will be calculated over and above the existing period of four days during which all cargoes are stored free of charge.
Sagis noted that the decision had been taken in line with shippers' requests to take into account that most businesses are closed or working part time during the New Year High Holidays.
Sagis added that the extra free storage period is of great financial importance to the shipping community.
