Israel’s unemployment rate in February declined for a third consecutive month as an expanding economy helped create jobs.
The unemployment rate fell again in February 2011 to 6% of the civilian labor force from 6.1% in January - close to the all-time low of 5.9% reached in mid-2008.
The Central Bureau of Statistics noted in a press release that there were 192,000 unemployed in February.
The Central Bureau of Statistics also revised downward its unemployment figures for the preceding months. The December 2010 unemployment was lowered to 6.2% from 6.4%, and the unemployment rate in the fourth quarter was 6.6%, of 211,000 persons. A year earlier, unemployment was 6.9%.
