The initiative behind the new chamber is aimed at strengthening the business sector relations with EU institutions and lobbying Brussels on its behalf
The Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturers Association of Israel and the Federation of Israeli Bi-National Chambers of Commerce decided last week to establish a special Israeli-EU Chamber of Commerce
The initiative behind the new chamber is aimed at strengthening the business sector relations with EU institutions and lobbying Brussels on its behalf.
In a statement issued by Mr. Gad Propper, chairman of the new body, the new chamber “will actually be the lobbyist of the Israeli business sector in dealing with the EU.”
It is understood that the new chamber has already considered the appointing of a representative to Brussels, the location of the main EU institutions, to lobby the business sector’s interests.
This representative will, according to Propper, be responsible for communicating, updates the EU business sector and representing Israeli concerns on vital issues to the EU Commission.
Following the announcement made by the business sector, the EU delegation office in Tel Aviv welcomed the establishment of the new Israel – EU chamber of commerce.
