Israel and the Ukraine: new bilateral air service agreement signed

Gideon Siterman Director-General of the Transportation and Road Safety Ministryannounced last week that Israel and the Ukraine had signed a new bilateral air service agreement (ASA)
 
The new agreement, signed on behalf of the Ministry by Mr. Arik Ben Ari, senior deputy for international relations at the Israeli Civil Aviation Authority and his Ukrainian counterpart Mr. Mikola Marchenko, will enable Israeli and Ukrainian airlines to operate 8 weekly flights to Kiev during the summer, compared to 4-5 today. During the winter each side will be able to operate 7 weekly flights.
 
The bilateral air service agreements provide the basic legal framework for operation of air services between the two contracting parties. The number of flights each country can operate and the destinations that could be served are also specified in these Agreements. The traffic rights available under an ASA could be utilised by the airlines designated by respective Governments.
