Following developments in negotiations between employee representatives and management, ZIM updated all its customers this morning that it is returning to full operation.
In the notice distributed to customers, it was written: "Dear customers - following the notice sent to you regarding the strike, we would like to update you that we have returned to operate and provide service in full format. All agency departments have returned to full activity and will be happy to respond to any inquiry. We thank you for your understanding and patience and will be happy to be at your service for any matter."
PORT2PORT spoke this morning with Oren Kaspi, Chairman of the ZIM Workers' Council, who confirmed that the company's employees have returned to providing service to importers and exporters, although according to him, sanctions are still ongoing in certain areas.
"In order for the company not to lose customers, we returned to providing service, but we are not working at one hundred percent. There is progress in the negotiations with Eli Glickman, the company's CEO and the board representative. I believe we will meet with him later this week and receive answers to the questions and demands we presented to the company's management. It is always possible to return to striking."
