Lufthansa Cargo announces the expansion of its operations to the Israeli market, with the launch of a new cargo flight network between Tel Aviv and Rome, operated by ITA Airways. As part of this move, two daily flights will be operated on the Rome-Tel Aviv route, and Rome-Fiumicino will join Lufthansa Cargo's network as an additional European hub.

With the addition of Rome-Fiumicino Airport, the Italian hub becomes Lufthansa Cargo's fifth European focus, alongside Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Brussels. This move is expected to expand routing options for customers and increase flexibility in the company's intercontinental network.

According to the company's announcement, starting from January 1, 2026, Lufthansa Cargo will offer up to 30 additional weekly cargo connections to South America, including Buenos Aires (EZE), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), and Sao Paulo (GRU). In addition, up to 21 weekly flights will be added to Asia, to destinations in Bangkok (BKK), New Delhi (DEL), and Tokyo-Haneda (HND). All shipments will be flown under Lufthansa Cargo's air waybill (AWB) on ITA flights via Rome-Fiumicino Airport.

The planned flight schedule will be operated using A320 aircraft, and includes two daily frequencies in each direction: inbound flight AZ806 from Rome to Tel Aviv departing at 09:15, landing at 13:35; and outbound flight AZ807 from Tel Aviv to Rome departing at 14:55, landing at 17:40. An additional inbound flight AZ810 departs from Rome at 22:50, landing in Tel Aviv at 03:10 the next day; and outbound flight AZ809 departs from Tel Aviv at 05:15, landing in Rome at 08:05.
