While Israel's airspace experiences severe disruptions, Challenge Airlines Israel (formerly CAL) announces a dramatic expansion of its emergency operations. The company has recently added four additional cargo aircraft to its active fleet, a move designed to significantly increase flight capacity for the essential needs of the state and the business sector.

The fleet expansion includes the addition of three Boeing 767 aircraft (with a capacity of approximately 40 tons each) and a wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, capable of carrying about 100 tons of cargo. These aircraft join the three planes already operating in the emergency array, thereby more than doubling the company's air transport capacity on key trade routes to Europe and the USA.

Maintaining Food and Health Security

Challenge's operations focus on two strategic goals. The first is providing a response to the state's logistical needs, and the second is ensuring a continuous connection to the world for importers and exporters.

In this context, the company noted that its aircraft are transporting critical shipments of food, medicine, and medical equipment around the clock, which constitute a central pillar of Israel's civil resilience during the period of hostilities.

Udi Sharon: "An Intense and Significant Response at a Critical Hour"

The company's CEO, Udi Sharon, commented on the fleet expansion, stating: "In light of the ongoing campaign, we realized that as an Israeli cargo airline, we must provide a larger and more intense response to meet the maximum needs of the state and the economy. Similar to previous operations, the company and all its systems have fully mobilized. We are the only ones continuing to fly and connect Israel to the world along with the Air Force, while our crews operate under life-threatening conditions between alerts."
