Arkia announced today (June 10) the addition of another wide-body Airbus A330-200 from Gallivair, which will strengthen the company's extensive fleet during the summer months and holiday season.
The aircraft will join the company's operations from tomorrow, June 11, and will primarily serve as a backup aircraft to ensure the stability of the operating system and meet the high demands of the summer. In addition, the aircraft will perform a number of individual flights on different routes, including a fourth frequency on the Tel Aviv - New York route, which will be operated on Thursday with departure from Israel and on Saturday night with departure from New York.
Oz Berlovich, CEO of Arkia: 'Only in July and August this year we will fly more than half a million passengers - a historic record for Arkia. We listen to the traveling public and in order to meet the demands we decided to add another wide-body aircraft for the summer - a busy and massive period in terms of aviation activity. This is an aircraft that will be used to reinforce and backup the entire fleet of the company and it will mainly serve as a response to changing operational needs. The new aircraft is a significant reinforcement to our fleet and will ensure a high level of service and adherence to schedules.'
