El Al Airlines has received the IEnvA (IATA Environmental Assessment) certification, an international program by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for assessing airlines' commitment to improving their environmental and sustainability performance. With this certification, El Al joins a line of international airlines, including British Airways, Air Canada, Finnair, Iberia, SAS, Air New Zealand, Emirates, and others, that have already joined this program.

The certification granted to El Al signifies the company's commitment to continuous improvement of environmental and sustainability performance, in accordance with the high international standards set by IATA. In this context, El Al invests in green technologies, innovative initiatives, and advanced work methods. In 2024, the company signed the largest acquisition deal in its history to replace and upgrade its narrow-body aircraft fleet with advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft, in addition to the purchase of wide-body 787 aircraft operating in the company's fleet since 2017.

El Al, the first Israeli company to join the IEnvA program, emphasizes its commitment to meet the highest standards of sustainability in the aviation world. Its goal is to upgrade and streamline fuel consumption reduction processes and improve its environmental performance, also in accordance with new international regulations expected to come into effect in the coming years.

Today, El Al is one of only 50 global airlines that have won this certification. The company intends to continue investing in efforts to promote a greener aviation future, focusing on the development of technological and innovative initiatives to improve environmental performance and contribute to environmental preservation.

El Al CEO, Dina Ben Tal Gannesia, said: "We are pleased to be part of a select group of airlines around the world that have received IATA's IEnvA certification. This is an important milestone in our journey to reduce our carbon footprint and create a better environmental future. We will continue to act responsibly and determinedly to promote the field of environment and sustainability as part of El Al's strategic plan."
