Colmobil, the Mercedes importer in Israel, has delivered the new eActros electric truck to Orian's distribution division. The truck, provided on an operational leasing track, will be used for Nespresso's coffee distribution network.

The choice of an electric truck aligns with the environmental values of the companies. Nespresso has set goals of zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050 at the latest and 2035 at the earliest. The new truck will now be used for coffee distribution and also for collecting capsules for recycling.

The Mercedes eActros, with a driving range of about 400 km, is another milestone in the green vehicle offerings of Colmobil's transport division. It is a 27-ton truck with a dry box and a net loading capacity of about 14 tons, offering a particularly low noise level, making it ideal for making deliveries even at night, without disturbing the environment.

Orian, one of Israel's leading logistics companies, is leading the green distribution issue and its vehicle fleet also includes the electric eVito, which is integrated into the supply chain management solutions offered by Orian to its customers. The eVito is already being used today for coffee distribution to Nespresso's business customers.

Meir Oren, Deputy CEO of Service and Operations, Nespresso Israel, says: 'The launch of the electric truck reflects the leading values that guide us, including innovation, environmental conservation, and emission reduction along the value chain. Reducing energy use alongside the transition to renewable energy supports the promotion of the goals we have set at the local and global level.'

Nir Dekel, Deputy CEO of the Business Work Vehicles Unit at Colmobil, notes that 'the new eActros represents another step in consolidating Colmobil's technological transport in the field of electric work vehicles. The eActros presents green innovation and impressive performance, and appeals to customers for whom sustainability and green energy are part of their agenda. This is in addition to the operational leasing financing track that makes the green vision feasible and possible'.

The eActros comes with four lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of about 112 kilowatts - a total of 448 kilowatts, two motors with a continuous power of 330 kilowatts and a maximum power of 400 kilowatts. In addition, the model has a maximum charging rate of 160 kilowatts allowing an average charging time from a state of 20% to 80% battery charge in an hour and forty minutes. The passenger compartment is specially designed for the benefit of the drivers, who enjoy innovative digital tools, a double gearbox, and a low center of gravity, alongside Mercedes' advanced assistance systems, including stability control, lane keeping, tire air monitoring, and an emergency braking system. In addition, the passenger compartment is equipped with a fire detection system and advanced signals for emergency warning.
