Israel Post Company buys Siemens sorting machine for NIS 10M

Israel Post Company (IPC) issued last week a press release indicating it had entered into contractual agreement with Siemens AG to purchase a mail sorting machine for NIS 10 million. The sorting machines will be able to read handwritten Hebrew and identify the postal stamps on the envelopes.
 
The press release also noted that IPC had recently bought two postal sorting machines from Siemens for NIS 40 million.
The IPC recently published a NIS 30 million international tender to buy four more mail sorting machine.
 
It is understood that Bowe Bell, Siemens, Howell of Germany, and Italy’s Elsag are participating in this tender.
