The ShipRates.online system has recently begun operations in the local shipping market, offering a digital platform that allows importers to receive international shipping quotes in a short time. The system was developed in response to the need for importers to reduce the time spent "chasing" manual quotes from multiple parties, allowing users to examine shipping costs across a variety of routes under a single interface.

The system is based on an interface that allows choosing between several shipping routes, including sea freight (LCL/FCL), air freight, and express courier. According to the system settings, the user can assemble the quote modularly, including only the freight component or a more extensive "door-to-door" service, which also includes expenses in the country of origin, inland transport in Israel, and customs brokerage. The information is presented to the user concisely, aiming to reflect a final shipping price without hidden charges.

Noam Pangas, CEO and owner of a freight forwarding and customs brokerage company who is behind the platform, explains the rationale: "We created simple and easy-to-use software that allows the importer to check costs independently online, instead of waiting for manual quotes or relying on broad price distributions. We assume that the price-checking process itself has a cost in terms of time and utility, and our system streamlines and reflects the cost immediately and clearly."

According to him, instead of the conventional model of contacting several forwarders individually or receiving numerous price lists, the system allows for independent verification based on existing contracts in the system for major global destinations. Prices are updated regularly, with the rationale behind operating the system being the optimization of the verification process and the reduction of time and effort devoted to locating shipping costs.

Beyond checking costs, the platform also allows users to proceed to the operational stage, where in these cases, the professional team of the company owning the interface manages the actual shipment until it reaches the importer's warehouse.

However, it should be noted that the system does not cover all destinations or exceptional cargo. For hazardous materials, refrigerated transport, or destinations that do not appear in the automatic interface, a specific request can be submitted for an individual response from the team.

Noam Pangas noted that the platform currently provides solutions for imports to Israel only and will open to more routes in the future. He stated that the platform represents another layer in the digitization trend of the logistics industry, offering an additional solution for importers seeking immediate and clear cost estimates for decision-making in supply chain management.
