Total cargo handled at Ben Gurion Airport last September was 27,154 tons, up 1.16% compared to the parallel in 2006
The Israel Civil Aviation Authority reported last week that Ben Gurion Airport handled 980,580 passengers during September 2007 on 7,615 international and domestic flights, 28.5% more than in September 2006.
Regarding cargo operations, the report noted that The Israel Civil Aviation Authority handled 10,400 tons in September, down 2.19% compared to the parallel in 2006, 10,633 tons. (The Israel Civil Aviation Authority handles cargo moving by passenger airlines). Cargo handled by handling companies other than the Civil Aviation Authority, cargo flown by freighters, totaled 16,754 tons, up 3.37% compared to the parallel in 2006.

In the nine months period January – September 2007 the airport handled 253,822 tons, up 3.61% compared to the first nine months in 2006.
