Foreign media sources report that Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. announced it is splitting up its Asia/ Mediterranean/ Pacific (AMP) pendulum service and will form a new transpacific APX system.
The move will involve the deployment of five containerships in the TEU 3,594 capacity.
The port rotation for the APX service will be: Shekou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Pusan, Vancouver and Shekou.
First eastbound sailing from Shekou will be on Nov. 4th by Zim Kingston returning westbound first sailing from Vancouver Nov. 22nd.
Zim is the world's 15th largest container shipping company, operating a fleet of 110 ships, of which 30 are owned by the company and the rest are leased.
