Zim integrated shipping services' employees declared last week labor dispute following a delay in payment of privatization bonus.
In a letter sent last week by Mr. Igal Cohen, chairman of the Haifa trade union to Mr. Yossi Bachar, director general of the Ministry of Finance, Cohen insisted that the government should takes the necessary steps to pay immediately the privatization bonus.
Cohen added that with approval of the trade union the employees would not handle government cargo and added that should the government continued to ignore its undertaking to pay the bonus, the employees will widen the dispute to other areas which will affect not only government cargo but also general cargo.
Mr. Doron Goder, director general of Zim integrated shipping services addressed the issue to Mr. Eyal Gabai, director general of the government companies authority, demanding to fulfill the authority's undertaking to pay the bonus and warned that unless the authority pays the bonus, the employees would take industrial actions.
He added that Zim integrated shipping services, will hold the government fully responsible for any damage to the company due to industrial actions taken by the employees.
