Shai Babad: Zim will not agree to any change until it gets the full approval of Zim's strategic customers
Shai Babad, General Manager, Israel & Near East Area, Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd., reacted to the Tilbury news noting that although moving the Joint Operational Service (JOS) from Felixstowe to Tilbury was under consideration, Zim will not agree to any change until it gets the full approval of Zim's strategic customers.
Talking to port2port Babad insisted that as long as the customers have not approved the move, Zim is unable to make any decision.
Babad added that although Hamburg Sd is an active partner in the Joint Operational Service (JOS) to the Eastern Mediterranean, as long as Zim operates three container vessels and Hamburg Sd only one, the latter cannot unilaterally take the decision.
