The general assembly of the Chamber of Shipping was held last Wednesday. The meeting included discussions on relevant and important topics such as the state of demand, Trump's customs tariffs, escalation in the Red Sea, the state of ports worldwide, the cancellation of exemptions, port queues, disappointment with the new outline, operational issues, the future of Eilat port, and the expectations of shippers in the country.

In addition, the triennial elections took place: the current committee members plus a new member - Asaf Fridenson from the Fridenson Group - were unanimously elected for another term, and Yoram Sebba was unanimously re-elected as president. It should be noted that Dr. Sebba was first elected as president of the Chamber of Shipping in 2012, following the death of Reuven Zuk, who served as president of the Chamber of Shipping. This is now Dr. Sebba's fifth consecutive term.

The members of the Chamber of Shipping's committee are: Moti Abrashi from ZIM, Yoni Izikov from Coral Marine Services, Yoram Hofman from United Shipping Agencies AMA, Shabtai Cohen from Maersk, Zeev Libovitz from Alaluf, Israel Normand from Kamor Marine Services, Sami Niago, Carmel Marine Services, Adni Simkin from MSC Israel, David Kastel, from the Scandinavian company, Shai Karni, from Konmart, Gal Toren from Lucy Borchard Shipping.

Dr. Yoram Sebba, President of the Chamber of Shipping, said in a conversation with PORT2PORT: "I thank the members of the chamber for the trust they have placed in me. I will strive to continue to protect the interests of shipping and ensure that services to shipping will be better."
