New Collective Agreement at Haifa Port: Wage Increases and Employee Integration

A new collective agreement at Haifa Port promises improved job security, wage increases, and better integration of new employees, impacting around 700 workers.

Today, the Histadrut, the Adani Group (owners of Haifa Port), and the port's management signed a special collective agreement. The agreement includes mechanisms for improving job security, providing wage increases, and arranging for the integration of new employees. The agreement will apply to approximately 700 employees and also includes improved retirement agreements.

Arnon Bar-David, Chairman of the Histadrut, stated, 'This is a significant and important agreement, and it ensures a clear horizon for both the dedicated workers of Haifa Port and the port's future as a central anchor in the Israeli economy. We managed to create solutions that will allow job stability, improvement in wage conditions, and also the recruitment of new manpower.'

Eyal Yadin, Chairman of the Transportation and Ports Workers Union at the Histadrut, added, 'This is an important day for the future of Haifa Port. Together with the management of the Adani Group, the port's management, and the workers' committees, we managed to reach a new agreement that provides a solution to the needs of the dedicated workers and will lead to the port's growth, its economic stability, and its prosperity.'

Nir Eisenberg, Manager of the Maritime Division at the Histadrut, emphasized, 'I am very happy to reach agreements that will ensure the port's future alongside its dedicated workers. The agreement will respond to the increasing competition between the ports, increase the volume of work, grow the port, and protect its workers who see it as a true home.'

Representatives from the Histadrut, the Adani Group, and Haifa Port's management, including Arnon Bar-David, Chairman of the Histadrut, Dr. Ron Malka, Chairman of Haifa Port's Board of Directors, and other representatives from the involved parties, participated in the negotiations.

The new agreement constitutes a significant step towards improving working conditions at Haifa Port, and it is expected to contribute to job stability and the port's future development.
