Raquel Kibrit, CEO of IAPORTS, an organization promoting port development in Latin America (LATAM), visited Ashdod Port to advance strategic international cooperation between Ashdod Port and Latin American ports in the areas of innovation and sustainability. This visit marks another milestone in expanding the activities of Ashdod Port's international technology HUB, through the development of innovation embassies operating on behalf of the port worldwide, embassies that have been successfully operating in recent years in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Santos Port in Brazil, Thessaloniki Port, Singapore, and more.
IAPORTS brings together eight central port authorities in Latin America, including Porto de Santos and Puerto de Dock Sudk, alongside national federations, training institutions, and infrastructure and technology companies. In a meeting held by Kibrit with Ashdod Port CEO, Nissan Levi, and Innovation Director, Roi Avrahami, a series of collaborations were agreed upon, including: integrating Ashdod Port in IAPORTS' innovation conference; examining the port's participation in the LATAM Export 2025 fair in Rio de Janeiro; developing frameworks for exchanging professional knowledge and international investments; integrating Israeli startups in future pilots in South American ports. During the tour, Kibrit was impressed by over 20 active technological pilots at the port, in the fields of automation, digitization, and smart operational management, and highlighted the potential for their implementation in LATAM ports.
Shaul Schneider, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ashdod Port, said: "We thank Raquel Kibrit, CEO of IAPORTS, for her visit to the port, especially during this period. The visit strengthens the port's vision to serve as a technological bridge between Israel and emerging markets and is another milestone in the port's innovation strategy. The collaborations with IAPORTS will strengthen both the Israeli economy and the innovation industry and the global supply chain."
Nissan Levi, CEO of Ashdod Port, added: "The dialogue that was formed during Raquel Kibrit's visit opens new opportunities that will allow us to take the solutions we developed in Ashdod through leading Israeli startups as part of the innovation and implement them in Latin American ports. Thanks to the collaboration, we will be able to share the knowledge and experience we have gained with ports that are in stages of growth, in order to bring mutual growth and a significant upgrade of operations on both sides of the ocean."
