Ashdod Port: 20 Million Shekel Profit in Q1 2025

Ashdod Port reports a 20 million shekel profit in Q1 2025, marking a return to profitability. The port saw a 40% increase in revenue compared to the same period last year.

Ashdod Port Company has confirmed its financial results for the first quarter of 2025, reporting a return to profitability. The company's revenues for the first quarter of the year amounted to 302 million shekels, compared to 214 million shekels in the same period last year - a growth of 40%. The first quarter of the year reflects a return to profitability, with the operating profit (before other expenses) for this quarter amounting to 25 million shekels, compared to an operating loss of 24 million shekels in the same period last year, which was characterized by the intense stage of the 'Iron Sabers' war.

The net profit for the first three months of 2025 stands at 20 million shekels, compared to a loss of 7 million shekels in the same period last year. The EBDITA for the first quarter of 2025 stood at 57 million shekels, compared to 7 million shekels in the first quarter of 2024.

In the container sector - the volume of containers loaded and unloaded at the port in the first three months of 2025 amounted to 186,000 containers, compared to 168,000 containers in the same period last year - a growth of about 11%. The market share in local containers remained stable at 41.5%.

In the vehicle sector - about 18,000 vehicles were unloaded at the port in the first three months of 2025, compared to about 7,000 vehicles in the same period last year.

In the bulk sector - in the first three months of 2025, 2,278 thousand tons of bulk were unloaded and loaded (excluding fuel shipped by sea), compared to 2,110 thousand tons in the same period last year. Most types of cargo saw growth, including ash and phosphate, malt, coal, and grain products.

The total cargo volume in the first three months of 2025 amounted to 359 thousand tons, compared to 180 thousand tons in the same period last year. The growth reflects the recovery of the economy and demands in the construction industry.

The passenger ship (cruise) sector - the 'Iron Sabers' war has currently halted activity in this sector, and the port is preparing for its renewal.
