Ashdod Port has implemented a recycling project for the sake of environmental quality. As part of the rolling project at Ashdod Port, which is designed to prepare areas for vehicle and general cargo storage, emphasis was placed on sustainable use of recycled raw materials for filling and building road infrastructure. In addition to preserving environmental values, the port saved a total of about 300,000 shekels due to the reuse of concrete.

During the project work, extensive use was made of recycled construction waste, which underwent meticulous grinding processes. Coarse concrete waste served as a high-quality granular filler material, in a volume of about 1,250 cubic meters. In addition, old piles that were dismantled also underwent grinding and were used as filler material, in a quantity of about 2,950 cubic meters. In total, about 4,200 cubic meters of recycled materials were used, while adhering to engineering standards and contributing to reducing the environmental impact of the project.

The CEO of Ashdod Port, Nissan Levy, said: 'The recycling project we carried out is an expression of Ashdod Port's deep commitment to responsible environmental management. The use of recycled raw materials in the project is a combination of environmental responsibility and advanced infrastructure planning. Ashdod Port will continue to operate at high standards while preserving sustainability and environmental values.'
