Arie Geva, founder of PORT2PORT died last Friday, March 12, 2010, at the age of 72 in Haifa Rambam medical Center after a 2 year fight against cancer disease
In 1976, after having left the Israeli Chamber of Shipping, Mr. Geva set up the first and the most popular shipping and trade newspaper in Israel which has since enjoyed high popularity not only among logistic providers, shipping companies, shipping agents, but also among ports and government ministries.
Under his leadership PORT2PORT has targeted a segmented audience of companies and professionals who are linked directly and indirectly to the international trade, logistics and have interest in the aforementioned fields including, inter-alia: importers, exporters, airline and shipping companies, land transporters, customs clearing agents, shipping agents & brokers, cargo flight agents, forwarders, factories, logistics departments etc.
With his vision and leadership the group has developed and operated a highly professional and fully comprehensive news web portal focused on logistics and cargo transport in general and on sea freight & shipping, airfreight and trade in particular.
His dedication to the world of shipping in general and to the Israeli exports in particular has been welcome by all sectors of the local trade communities.
He is survived by his wife, two children and four grandsons. His son, Doron Geva, is the CEO of PORT2PORT in the last four years.
