As from December 19, 2009 Haifa will be the first port of call and Ashdod will follow
Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd and Hamburg Sd which jointly run the Joint Operational Service (JOS) to the Eastern Mediterranean, announced that as from December 19, 2009 Haifa will be the first port of call and Ashdod will follow.
The announcement noted that the decision to change the first port of call from Ashdod to Haifa was taken in order to improve service level to importers and exporters and allow faster turn around time at both ports.
Within the framework of the change, the vessel Cape Akritas V. 33, operated by Hamburg Sd will depart Haifa on December 19th and from Ashdod on December 21st direct to west Europe.
