IBM announced last week that it is involved in the setting up a NIS 12 million SAP system for Zim integrated shipping services.
According to a news release IBM Global Services said it had completed the first stage of the financial and logistics system at Zim. IBM added that the project is the largest ever to be ordered by an Israeli-based global company.
The present stage of the project includes setting up the system in Zim’s two main offices in Haifa and Tel Aviv.
During the second half this year and during next year, the SAP system will be integrated into Zim's 35 offices and agencies around the world.
Upon completion,at the beginning of 2007, the system, according to IBM Global Services will serve 1,200 Zim employees and agents.
60 IBM and Zim employees are working on the project, and the IBM training program involved 300 users.
