D&B Israel reported last week that Ashdod Port company Ltd was Israel’s largest port in 2005, and was, according to D&B, ranked Israel’s third largest infrastructure and transport company.
In a detailed comparative analysis of the Israeli ports sector, D&B noted that in 2005 Ashdod Port posted $191.2 million revenue, Haifa port company which was considered to be the largest port in terms of revenue and operation, posted $188 million revenue, and the Eilat Port Company Ltd. posted $22 million.
D&B also pointed out that Ashdod Port was the largest employer in the port sector with 1,181 employees, and average sales per employee of $161,900.
Haifa Port had in 2005, 960 employees and average sales per employee of $172,000, and Eilat Port had 115 employees and average sales per employee of $198,000.
