The port of Ashdod announced last week it had reached an all-time high container movements, breaking a record which it has reached two weeks earlier.
 
The port handled an average of 150 containers per ship's working hour, up 50 percent from the last record.
 
Last record was reached during the call made by K Line's Hannover Bridge, one of the largest container vessels. During the handling of the vessel, port workers unloaded 2,650 containers in three shifts instead of five, 100 containers per hour.
 
Two weeks ago, the port of Ashdod reached an all-time high container movements for a 24 hours period. In a single 24 hours period, the port moved last week 5,013 containers, up 10 percent from the last record reached in October 2011, during which the port moved 4,564 containers.
