Tabor-Galil Inaugurates New Container Terminal Near Haifa Port

Tabor-Galil has inaugurated a new container terminal and logistics warehouse near Haifa Port, reflecting its strategy to expand logistics chain options for its customers.

Tabor-Galil has inaugurated a new container terminal and logistics warehouse near Haifa Port, following an investment of over one million shekels. The container terminal spans an area of approximately 3,000 square meters of covered warehouses and 24,000 square meters of open space. The complex includes 12 ground-level warehouses of various sizes, ranging from 66 square meters to 600 square meters, suitable for room temperature storage.

The logistics warehouse of Tabor-Galil offers significant advantages to the company's customers: a strategic location near Haifa Port, 24/7 operation, and an advanced movement system that includes 4 forklifts for containers and 2 forklifts with options for operating pallets or roll clamps. The logistics warehouse is part of the company's expansion of operations in the Haifa and northern region, reflecting the company's strategy to expand the logistics chain options offered to its customers. The company is already planning further expansions in the future, including the establishment of storage tents.

Kobi Monovitch, CEO of Tabor-Galil, said at the ceremony: 'The inauguration of Tabor-Galil's new container terminal in Haifa is a significant milestone in the field of logistics for the company, and includes advanced infrastructures aimed at providing fast, efficient, and quality services. The new terminal can accommodate up to 1,000 containers at a time, including covered warehouses, allowing us to offer advanced solutions for safe and quality storage of goods. In addition, we have renewed an electric tractor, and are about to purchase two tractors powered by compressed natural gas, this is another step to improve operational efficiency, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and maintain environmental quality.'

Monovitch also noted that since the establishment of Tabor-Galil, he does not remember days of calm due to dealing with many challenges: the coronavirus pandemic, war, exceptional increases in expenses, regulatory constraints, business challenges, and more.

Despite this, Monovitch said, the customers remained loyal to the company and added that the team of employees constitute 'the heart of the company', dedicated, professional, dealing with the not simple reality, finding solutions, and maintaining the company's faith and vision, and they are the reason why it was possible to inaugurate this new project. He also thanked the board members for their support and faith in the company, and turning a vision into a reality and an impressive achievement.

The transport company Tabor-Galil is a merger of two of the largest and oldest transport cooperatives in the country - Tabor Shan Herod and Upper Galilee Cooperative, from the 'Galilee Development Company' group. Tabor-Galil currently operates a fleet of 140 advanced trucks and semitrailers, with innovative and computerized systems for accuracy and safety of travel, dedicated trucks for transporting heavy industrial equipment and IDF equipment, as well as 340 trailers of various types capable of performing activities in a variety of fields.
