Ashdod to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation networks

The municipality of Ashdod will receive a NIS 220 million grant from the Israeli finance and transportation ministries to promote environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation networks and become a model of public transport.

According to press release issued by the municipality of Ashdod, the goals of the finance and transportation ministries in supporting the program,are to minimize the use of private cars, reduce air pollution and the number of accidents, and improve quality of life in the city.

The program will be implemented gradually over the next four years.
