According to the CBS Israel has 302 motor vehicles per 1,000 residents, a rather low proportion among developed countries. The annual growth in the number of vehicles reflects the standard of living and salaries for each year.
16.5% of motor vehicles are diesel powered, including 2.6% of private cars.
38% of motor vehicles in Israel were produced in Japan, 11% in France, 10.1% in South Korea, 9.4% in Spain, 8.6% in Germany, 5.5% in Italy and 4.1% in the US.
