Ohad Cohen who currently serves as the Commercial Attache at the Embassy of Israel in Washington D.C. has been appointed as deputy director general of foreign trade Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and Director of the Foreign Trade Administration, which is the unit responsible for the consolidation of Israel's foreign trade policy and operates a network of 35 trade representatives operating in 50 countries.
In 1997 Mr. Cohen joined the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor (MOITAL) where he worked in its Middle East Department. His main responsibility was to serve as the coordinator of the Israeli members of the joint Israeli-Jordanian-American Qualified Industrial Zone (QIZ) Committee. Mr. Cohen was appointed in 1998 as the Acting Commercial Attach in Amman, Jordan, a position he held until 1999. From 1999 until September 2000, Mr. Cohen worked as Deputy Director of the International Agreements Division, where he dealt mainly with Israel’s commercial relationships with the European Union.
Prior to his governmental positions Mr. Cohen worked as an economist in ZIM Lines.
