Japanese Ambassador to Israel Jun Yokota announced last week that the Japanese government travel warning against travel to Israel by Japanese businesspeople and tourists, would be lowered as from this week.
The announcement came at the end of a three days visit of Minister of Industry Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert's to Japan. During the visit Olmert was promised by Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi that the effective travel warning against travel to Israel would be lowered.
According to the ambassador, Japan would lower its travel warning to Israel to level 1, the lowest travel warning level which was effective until 1999.
