Israeli President, Shimon Peres praised the Guangdong's economy for the ongoing economic transformation and development
Israeli President, Shimon Peres, met last Sunday Mr. Huang Huahua, China's Guangdong Province Governor, on enhancing economic and technological cooperation. The president, noting the ongoing economic transformation and development in Guangdong, praised theGuangdong's economy.
The president noted that the technology will be the most important area in the future cooperation between the two sides. Peres said that the evolution of the artificial intelligence, the expansion of the scientists group and the emphasis on the brainpower resources are the three main trends of the current technological development in the world.
Guangdong Province Governor ,Hauhua, speaking highly of the bilateral trade and technological cooperation and its great potential, told Peres that it is a good match between Israel's technological innovation capacity and local demand and market in Guangdong. He suggested enhancing cooperation between the two sides especially in the fields of High-Tech, trade and investment, culture and education, and tourism.
According to Huahua, the trade volume between Guangdong and Israel stands at US$1.38 billion in 2009, more than a quarter of the Sino-Israeli trade as a whole.
