Industrial R&D agreement signed between Turkey and Israel

Minister of Industry Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert and Turkey's Minister of Agriculture and Village Affairs Sami Guclu signed last week a bilateral industrial R&D agreement. The newly signed R&D agreement covers agriculture, electronics, high tech, space and biotechnology.
 
Both ministers are the joint chairmen of the Israeli Turkish bilateral economic committee. Shortly before the agreement had been signed the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Minister of Industry Trade Ehud Olmert agreed to hold a regional economic conference in Turkey, with the participation of Turkish, Israeli, and Palestinian government officials and businesspeople.
 
After signing the agreement with Turkish Minister of Agriculture Sami Guclu, Olmert noted that the industrial R&D agreement was a highly important step in upgrading commercial and economic ties between Israel and Turkey.
Olmert added that the agreement will enable better cooperation between high-tech companies in the two countries interested in developing products for the international market.
