Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) reported last week that in a survey of Israeli exports markets of over $1 million per month, in February 2006 Egypt was Israel’s fastest growing export market: exports to Egypt rose by 168%, compared with $8.3 million in February 2005
The second fastest growing export market in February 2006, compared with February 2005, was Bulgaria, to which exports rose 140% to $4.8 million. Third was Japan, to which exports rose 127% to $89 million; Fourth was Costa Rica, to which exports rose 106% to $27 million;
The Czech Republic was placed in the fifth place, to which exports rose by 73% to $6.4 million.
The survey also noted that the US market was Israel’s largest export market in February. Exports to the US rose by 11.4% to $604 million.
The report also noted that the sharpest drop in exports in February, compared with February 2005, was to Slovenia, followed by Venezuela, down 45% to $2.2 million, Austria down 43% to $4.6 million; and to Ecuador, down 42.5% to $2.3 million.
