CBS: Israel’s July Foreign Trade by Country totaled NIS 13.5 billion

The trade deficit in goods for January-July 2014 with EU countries totaled NIS 11.0 billion (-23.9% compared to January-July 2013)

The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported that in July 2014, import of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 20.2 billion. 34% were imports from EU countries, 21% - from Asian countries, 14% - from USA and 31% - from Other Countries.

 

In July 2014, export of goods (gross, excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 13.5 billion and the trade deficit in goods (excluding diamonds) totaled NIS 6.6 billion. 29% were exports to EU countries, 22% - to Asian countries, 26% - to USA, and 23% - to Other countries.

 

Trade Balance January-July

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with EU countries totaled NIS 11.0 billion (-23.9% compared to January-July 2013).

 

The trade deficit in goods (excl. diamonds) with Asian countries totaled NIS 8.3 billion (12.6% compared to January-July 2013).

 

The trade surplus in goods (excl. diamonds) with USA totaled NIS 4.6 billion compared with NIS 6.6 billion in the same period of the previous year (-31.1% compared to January-July 2013).

 

Import of Goods May-July

Trend data by main country groups indicates that imports from EU countries decreased by 4.6%, at an annual rate, in May-July 2014, continuing a decrease of 7.7% in February-April 2014. In January-July 2014 imports (excluding diamonds) from Ireland, Slovenia and Denmark decreased significantly.

 

Imports of goods from USA increased by 22.9%, at an annual rate, in May-July 2014 (1.7% monthly average), continuing an increase of 1.2% in February-April 2014.

 

Imports from Asian Countries increased by 3.3% in the last three months at an annual rate, continuing an increase of 14.8% in February-April 2014 at an annual rate. In January-July 2014 imports (excluding diamonds) from Jordan, Hong Kong and China increased significantly.

 

Imports from Other Countries decreased by 10.8% in the last three months, at an annual rate, continuing a decrease of 25.9% in February-April 2014 (-2.5% monthly average). In January-July 2014 imports (excluding diamonds) from Canada, Ukraine and Argentina decreased significantly.

 

Export of Goods May-July

Exports to EU countries decreased by 19.9%, at an annual rate in May-July 2014, continuing a decrease of 11.6% in February-April 2014. In January-July 2014 exports (excluding diamonds) to Belgium, Denmark, Spain and Latvia decreased significantly.

 

Exports to Asian Countries decreased by 3.5%, at an annual rate in the last three months, continuing a decrease of 26.9% in February-April 2014 (-2.6% monthly average). In January-July 2014 exports (excluding diamonds) to Vietnam, Taiwan and Philippines decreased significantly.

 

Exports to Other Countries decreased by 20.5%, at an annual rate in May-July 2014, continuing a decrease of 12.0% in February-April 2014. In January-July 2014 exports (excluding diamonds) to Ukraine, Kenya and Brazil decreased significantly. Exports to USA increased by 21.8%, at an annual rate in May-July 2014 (1.7% monthly average), continuing an increase of 6.7% in February-April 2014.
