Manufacturers Association president and Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute chairman Shraga Brosh predicted last week that Foreign investment will reach $4-5 billion in 2005, compared with $1.6 billion in 2004.
Brosh added that since the Palestinian Authority elections in January 2005, more foreign delegations have been visiting Israel. He noted that since January 23 delegations with 258 business people had visited Israel and few more from Turkey, Ukraine, Australia, the autonomous region of Catalonia, and Italy were expected in the next few weeks.
The delegations visiting Israel since January this year included an American Jewish organization Keren Hayesod-United Israel Appeal, a business delegation from Turkey, a Chinese delegation, agricultural delegations from Nepal and Brazil and two multi-industry and industrial park delegations from Sweden.
Two environmental technology and electronics delegations from Hong Kong; an industry and trade delegation from India, two environmental delegations from Italy, a communications, information technology, agro-technology, a multi-industry delegation from Ivory Coast and environmental delegation from South Africa; an industry and trade delegation from India; three telecommunications delegations from South Korea; an agricultural, infrastructure, environmental delegation from Serbia; a delegation from Nigeria and delegations from the Netherlands – electronics and Poland - environmental technology.
