According to figures released by the Israel Flower Growers Association some 100 million flowers will be exported to Europe in the coming days, the same quantity as in last year's Christmas season. However, proceeds from their sale will grow 17% to over NIS 90 million.
Israel Flower Growers Association said that the main demand this year was for African daisies (gerbera), carnations and roses as well as green leaves and gypsophila, green leaves used as filler in bouquets and in floral arrangements.
