Israela Mani, head of the economic department of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce said last week that daylight savings time contributed the economy NIS 65 million this past summer.
According to the Federation's survey, Over the six months of its implementation the daylight savings time saved in production costs, primarily electricity production, and helped boost sales and worker productivity.
According the the federation the average weekly income of the business sector,( 56 million working hours), is estimated at NIS20 billion thus every additionl hour worked contributed some NIS400,000 in additional income.
The daylight savings time which lasts this year from April 1 to September 30, had helped to improve the standard of living and gave workers more family and leisure time.
