The Israel Purchasing and Logistics Managers Association’s Procurement Managers Index for December 2005, published last week by D&B Israel, indicates economic expansion for the second consecutive month.
The index which is calculated on data collected by D&B Israel shows, however, that economic expansion slowed down.
According to D&B Israel the Procurement Managers Index fell 3.3%, from 59% in November to 55.7% in December. (50% marks the threshold dividing economic expansion from contraction).
According to D&B Israel the slower economic expansion in December 2005 was mainly due to a fall in general domestic demand and in demand for workers.
D&B Israel noted, however, that other components of the Procurement Managers' index, including manufacturing output and export demand, also fell slightly.
