As of yesterday (01.03.25), the third phase of the import reform 'What's Good for Europe - Good for Israel' has come into effect. Like the previous phases, this phase also includes a wide range of consumer products that can be imported according to European Union standards. The expansion of options for importers is expected to increase competition, improve supply, and lower prices.
Some of the products included in the third phase are: ovens, stoves, grills, toasters, food processors, blenders, mixers, meat grinders, food and storage utensils - made of single and multi-use plastic, ceramics and glass, coffee machines, ice cream and ice making machines, refrigerators, tampons, carpets.
As a reminder, so far two phases have been carried out that included a very wide range of products, including: electrical and lighting products, electronic devices, electric heaters, bicycles in various sizes, children's furniture, toys for children of different ages, walkers and more.
Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, said: "We continue to break barriers and reduce bureaucracy in order to lower the cost of living in Israel. Adopting the European standard allows the entry of quality products at more competitive prices and expands the range of products for Israeli consumers. This is a significant step for the benefit of the public and to encourage fair competition in the market".
In early May, the fourth phase will come into effect, which will include a group of baby products, including: pacifiers and nipples, pacifier holders, bottles, feeding utensils for babies and more.
Importer Assistance Center: The telephone center of the Ministry of Economy and Industry continues to provide information and assistance to importers at the number: 074-7502424, between the dates 25.2.25 and 04.03.25. Afterwards, additional information can be found and online inquiries can be submitted on the Ministry of Economy's website.
