The Planning and Economics Division of the Tax Authority published this morning the import data for durable goods for February 2025. The data shows that in February 2025, there was an import of 13,312 private vehicles compared to 15,998 in February 2024, a decrease of 16.8%.
The import of commercial vehicles amounted to 737 vehicles compared to 867 in February 2024, a decrease of 15%. The low import in February 2025 is due to the advancement of vehicle imports in December 2024, before the increase in purchase tax on electric vehicles and the update of the green taxation formula and green taxation path in January 2025. It should be noted that in December 2023, vehicle imports were also advanced before the increase in the purchase tax on electric vehicles, but in smaller volumes.
In the period January - February 2025, vehicle imports amounted to 22,659 vehicles compared to 34,401 vehicles in the same period last year, a decrease of 34.1%.
16.8% Decline in Private Vehicle Imports in February 2025
The Tax Authority's Planning and Economics Division reports a significant drop in the import of private and commercial vehicles in February 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
